A Unique Opportunity To Work With Anne Bogart

United Solo will host a Master Class with Anne Bogart, internationally acclaimed director, author, and Head of the MFA in Directing Program at Columbia University. This class will take place on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 6PM-8PM at Theatre Row in New York City. All ages and levels of theatrical experience encouraged. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional Master Classes will be given by Marek Probosz (Nov. 15), professor at UCLA and actor with more than 50 starring roles in theatre, film and television; Janis Brenner (Nov. 29), award-winning multidisciplinary artist, and faculty member at The Juilliard School; and Allan Corduner (Dec. 10), internationally renowned actor, currently starring in “My Fair Lady” on Broadway. Pre-registration is required at www.unitedsolo.org/us/uedu Anne Bogart is a Co-Artistic Director of the ensemble-based SITI Company, and author of five books: “A Director Prepares,” “The Viewpoints Book,” “And Then You Act,” “Conversations With Anne” and “What’s the Story.” With SITI, Bogart has directed more than 30 works in venues around the world, including “The Bacchae,” “Chess Match No. 5,” “Steel Hammer,” “The Theater Is a Blank Page,” “Persians,” “A Rite,” “Café Variations,” “Radio Macbeth,” “American Document,” “bobrauschenbergamerica” and “Hotel Cassiopeia.” Recent opera works include Handel’s “Alcina,” Dvorak’s “Dimitrij,” Kurt Weill’s “Lost in the Stars,” Verdi’s “Macbeth,” Bellini’s “Norma” and Bizet’s “Carmen.” Her many awards and fellowships include three honorary doctorates (Cornish School of the Arts, Bard College and Skidmore College), A Duke Artist Fellowship, A United States Artists Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Rockefeller/Bellagio Fellowship and a Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Residency Fellowship. Our instructors include legendary theatre artist Anne Bogart; Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch dancer and choreographer Pau Aran Gimeno; Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis; renowned actor, director, and recipient of the Drama Desk Special Award Austin Pendleton; preeminent actress, director, and Olivier Award winner Fiona Shaw; actor and screenwriter of the Oscar-winning film “Trevor” James Lecesne; renowned and critically acclaimed mime Bill Bowers; distinguished actor, currently starring in “My Fair Lady” on Broadway, Allan Corduner; prominent press agent Joshua Ellis; Head of the MA in Classical Acting at LAMDA Penny Cherns; resident artist at La MaMa, and professor at The New School Zishan Ugurlu; as well as Juilliard School faculty member, performer, and choreographer who has toured 36 countries, Janis Brenner.
